(Copiague, NY)- Police say a man drove drunk, crashed into a canal and survived-it all happened on Wednesday night in Copiague. On November 18, 2020 at approximately 10:40 p.m., police received a 911 call about a vehicle that went into a canal at West Riviera Drive by East Hampton Road. Officials say they found the driver had exited the vehicle and was back on land. Detectives determined that the driver, Exel Argueta was intoxicated and arrested him for DWI. Argueta, 22, of Lindenhurst, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of hypothermia.
