(Central Islip, NY)- Suffolk County Police are investigating an incident in which a bicyclist was seriously injured in Central Islip on November 4, 2020. Officials say an adult male was riding his bicycle on eastbound Suffolk Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle leaving a 7-Eleven store at approximately 9:20 p.m. The woman driving the vehicle was not injured.
While the bicyclist was lying in the roadway, he was run over by another vehicle. The vehicle did not remain at the scene.
The victim was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
