(East Farmingdale, NY)- Police in Nassau and Suffolk County say they are prepared in the event there could be a disturbance at polling sites across Long Island.
Suffolk County Police released the following statement, “Although there is no credible intelligence indicating threats to disrupt voting, the Suffolk County Police Department is prepared to respond and address any type of disturbance at polling places. All personnel have been briefed regarding potential protest activity related to elections and response plans are in place’.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, “The Nassau County Police Department is prepared for any potential issues that may arise on Election Day. Supervisors and Officers have been briefed on today’s activities and will intensify their patrols around polling sites to ensure safety. Situational plans are in place as we continue to monitor locations and events throughout the day and night”.
