A catering hall and a Farmingville homeowner could see fines for breaking COVID rules

(Farmingville, NY)-  Officials in Suffolk County announced possible fines for a Long Island catering hall and a homeowner after both were caught hosting large parties.  On Wednesday, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, said that 30 of the 91 people who attended a wedding at the North Fork County Club in Cutchogue, have tested positive for COVID-19.  New York State currently only allows gathering up to 50 people.  Bellone said the catering facility could see fines over $17,000.  Officials also discussed a Farmingville homeowner who could be facing fines after hosting a party at 6 Somers Court on Saturday with up to 300 people in attendance.  Officials also noted that some of the attendees at the party on Somers Court were allegedly drinking under age also some were not wearing masks.  Bellone said the Farmingville homeowner could see fines near $2,500.
