The Big Duck turned purple to honor essential workers

(Flanders, NY)- The Long Island Big Duck turned purple on Wednesday night to honor essential workers.  The Town of Southampton, celebrated Emergency Nurses Week, October 11-17th, with a special ceremony and lighting of the Big Duck in Flanders.

Local leaders including Southampton Town Supervisor, Jay Schneiderman, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Assemblyman Fred Thiele Jr, Suffolk County Emergency Nurses Association President Mary Dasilva and Director of Emergency Department at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Katrin Diana, were all on hand for the celebration.

The Long Island Big Duck is located on County Road 24 in Flanders.
