NY Gov announces plan to battle rising COVID-19 numbers in hot spots

New York State will be taking actions to deal with rising numbers of positive coronavirus cases.   Governor Andrew Cuomo, on Tuesday, announced the Cluster Action Initiative, a targeted response to COVID-19 hot spots and the immediate areas surrounding them.  The 3 tiered system, color coded in red, orange and yellow, has varying degrees of restrictions in place for residents, businesses, houses of worship, restaurants, schools and social gatherings.

Cuomo also announced that New York State will begin imposing a $15,000 fine for people who hold mass gatherings above the limit of participants allowed within a specific region.

The rules will take effect no later than Friday.
