Suffolk County Police are investigating an incident during which a man was killed in Melville this morning. A clerk from 7-Eleven, located at 225 Broadhollow Road, confronted a male shoplifter and chased him out of the store at approximately 12:45 a.m. A confrontation occurred, during which the male shoplifter was killed. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The investigation is ongoing.
