Queens man arrested after an alleged altercation with Nassau County Police

A Queens Village man was arrested in Nassau County on Sunday night after an altercation with Nassau County Police.  Detectives say on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 5:54 p.m. police responded to a disturbance at 1170 Northern Blvd in Manhasset.  Upon arrival, officials say they discovered the defendant, Hubert Lewis, 60, of 80-45 Winchester Blvd., had shoved a 62-year-old female victim from behind. Police then say the defendant grabbed an officer by the shirt and while placing the defendant into custody, he kicked, spit on and wrestled with the officers. Both officers were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained and exposure to bodily fluids. Hubert Lewis is charged with Assault 2 nd degree, Menacing 3 rd degree, Harassment 2 nd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration  2nd degree and Resisting Arrest. Police say Lewis will be arraigned when medically practical.
