Flash Flooding caused a messy morning commute on Long Island. Drivers faced rapidly rising water on area roadways including the Southern State Parkway and Sunrise Highway. At least one Long Island school had a delayed opening due to the flooding and difficult travel conditions. Flooding was also reported in isolated areas along the Sagtikos Parkway, Hempstead Turnpike, Merrick Road also along portions of the Wantagh Parkway, Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway and Lido Blvd.
