Hurricane Laura makes landfall on Gulf Coast & remnants may arrive in NY this weekend

Hurricane Laura, a catergory 4 storm, made landfall overnight in southwest Lousiana, near the Texas border. With maximum sustained winds at 150 miles per hour, forecasters say that Laura, could rip buildings apart and toss vehicle like toys.  A 20 foot storm surge is also possible in some locations along the Gulf Coast.  Laura is expected to continue to move north before heading east and the remnants could possibly come close to Long Island later this weekend.  We will keep a close watch on Laura.
