**UPDATE: roadway was reopened at 11:30 a. m., on August 20, 2020**
The Eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway are closed between Exit 58/William Floyd Parkway and Exit 59/Wading River Road because of a serious motor vehicle accident. Suffolk Police say the accident, involving a motorcycle and another vehicle, occurred around 6:30 a. m. The Northbound William Floyd Parkway ramp to Eastbound Sunrise Highway is also closed. Serious injures were reported. Seventh squad detectives are currently investigating. Take the Long Island Expressway as an alternate route.
