Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, around 11 o’clock Monday night. Isaias was weakened to a Tropical Storm after making landfall and is continuing its path moving quickly up the east coast in a north-northeast direction.
The National Weather Service has issued the following watches and warnings for Long Island.
- Tropical Storm Warning in effect until further notice.
- Tornado Watch in effect until 4PM on Tuesday.
- High Surf Advisory in effect until 8AM on Wednesday.
- Coastal Flood Advisory in effect until until 2AM on Wednesday.
- Coastal Flood Warning in effect until 1AM on Wednesday.
- Flash Flood Watch in effect until 6AM on Wednesday.
WALK Meterologist Pat Pagano says the “fast moving storm could bring some dangerous squalls to Long Island around mid-afternoon“. Pagano also said that, “Tropical Storm Isaias, should be out of our area by 6pm this evening“.
