Pedestrian injured in Brentwood crash

A pedestrian was seriously injured Thursday night in a Brentwood motor vehicle crash. Authorities say 45 year old Juan Martinez-Umana was walking on Fifth Avenue near Third Avenue around 9pm, when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.  Police say the vehicle was a 2011 Honda Pilot driven by Dinorah Pantaleon.  The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.  The pedestrian was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.  Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352
