Suffolk County Police arrested a Selden man on Tuesday night, after he attempted to strike his father and three other people with a motor vehicle. Cops say a 22 year old man threatened his father with a knife inside their Maplewood Avenue residence on July 21, 2020, around 9:20pm. Then, police say the two men, along with another family member and two friends of the family went outside. The 22 year old, got into a vehicle and drove it toward the four people, missing the pedestrians and striking the house. The son drove forward and back into the house two more times before fleeing the scene on foot. The 22 year old returned to the scene a short time later, where he was arrested by officers and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Menacing 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief. He was then transported to a local hospital for evaluation. There were no injuries. The Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal was called to the scene to inspect the house for structural damage.
