Two Nassau County Police offers were injured Sunday night during an altercation with a man in Kings Point. Officers say they responded to a call of a disturbance at a home on Split Rock Drive on July 19, 2020 at 10pm. According to detectives, 77 year old Dariush Zargaroff appeared to be intoxicated and became irate and combative with officers. Police say Zargaroff kicked and pushed an officer causing him to fall. When officers tried to place Zargaroff under arrest, he physically resisted causing another officer to suffer back injuries. Both officers and Zargaroff were transported to a hospital for treatment. Zargaoff is charged with two (2) counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. Police say he will be arraigned when medically practical.
