Cops seized weapons, explosives and drugs

 

 

Officials say they seized weapons, explosives and drugs from a home in Farmingdale on Wednesday.  Nassau Police say they responded to a well-being check of a resident at 228 Staples street on July 15, 2020 at 7am.  Police say they were given permission to enter the home and once inside, the observed various chemicals in liquid and powder form as well as numerous firearms in plain sight.  Officers also observed a book titled “The Preparatory Manual of Explosives Fourth Edition, Volume 1”. Officers directed everyone out of the house for safety reasons. As officers and detectives were further investigating they received a search warrant and with the assistance of Arson/Bomb Squad, Emergency Services Unit, Narcotics and the FBI re-entered the home. Police personnel conducted an extensive search and recovered twenty-two (22) unregistered firearms, approximately 148 grams of an unknown narcotic believed to be cocaine, various pills and numerous chemicals that can be used to create high powered explosive devices. All three subjects were placed under arrest without further incident.

Defendant Daniel Petrizzo, 33, of 228 Staples Street, has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Twelve (12) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Manufacture of a Machine Gun, Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree.

Defendant Tiffany Pawson, 32, of 228 Staples Street, has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Thirteen (13) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Manufacture of a Machine Gun, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree. She was also charged with five (5) outstanding warrants.

Defendant Eddie Fernandez, 35, of 228 Staples Street, has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Thirteen (13) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Manufacture of a Machine Gun, Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree.

All three defendants were arraigned on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Mineola.
