A Port Jefferson Station man seriously injured at a family party on the 4th of July. Suffolk police say on July 4, 2020, Carlos Diaz, tried to light a mortar-style firework at a party on Robert Court. Officials say the device exploded just after 10 p. m. and struck Diaz in the face. Police say Diaz, age 29, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with suffered serious injuries to one of his eyes.
