Rapper Kendrick Lamar has won a Pulitzer Prize. The rapper’s latest album is the first win for a musical effort that is not classical or jazz since the awards started to recognize music 75 years ago. The 30-year-old hip-hop artist won the prize for “DAMN.,” his raw and powerful Grammy-winning album. The Pulitzer board said Monday the album is a “virtuosic song collection” and said it captures “the modern African American life.” He will win $15,000.

Beyonce is donating $100,000-dollars to colleges and universities that have a high minority demographic. One lucky person from Xavier University of Louisiana; Wilberforce University; Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University will each get a $25,000-dollar scholarship for the 2018-2019 school year.  This is the second scholarship program from BeyGOOD. Last year, the singer launched the Formation Scholarship, which aimed to award young women who “think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident.” The four recipients were announced in June 2017. Qualifying students can use the scholarship to pursue studies in literature, creative arts, African-American studies, science, education, business, communications, social sciences, computer science and engineering and must maintain a 3.5 GPA or above.

It’s a comedy about a man who discovers he’s the only person that remembers The Beatles’ music. The cast already includes Lily James and Kate McKinnon.
