Actress Auditioned For Idol

We’ve talked about Colbie Caillat and Marren Morris being among the few to audition for American Idol and not make it but now add this lady to the list… Chrissy Metz! The This Is Us actress told EXTRA that she auditioned back in 2007. “I’m glad that I showed up for myself and sat in a stadium for eight hours… I was like, ‘I’m committed. I’m gonna see it through. If it wasn’t the right path, that’s cool — I would have never had ‘This Is Us.’ It is all written in the stars — I believe. It happened exactly the way that it was supposed to.”

I am overwhelmed with gratitude and love for each one of these special humans who secretly and not so secretly came out to support me yesterday at @bneventsgrove for my last stop on the book tour! It wasn’t until the end of the Q&A that I realized just who was sitting in the first three rows! My heart flooded with memories and emotions of my TWELVE years here in LA! From my dearest friends and co-workers, including Janaya Crudup who was my first friend in the agent world to former clients turned friends who I admire and cheer for on the sidelines now, @kendrick38, @ashleefuss and Evan Cooper to my vocal coach, @singwdot to @lcoggiola who never ceases to amaze me and of course my soul sister, Gina ! Friends who are now family (Pam, Jay and Emma) and Deb, (Mike and Max) and course my girl, @fatmata81 who was so instrumental in my career! To my incomparable acting coach and friend, John Kirby(who actually stood in line) Thank you to my entire kick ass team from CAA, Tracy Brennan, @kate_childs, @caithoyt , Brian Boone (where is everyones insta handle) The wonderful folks at @harpercollinsus and @deystreet including Heidi Richter and Carrie Thorton. The best ghost writer, Kevin O’Leary, my incredible manager, Lena Roklin @official_lenaroklin, my adventure buddy and the hardest working publicist, Cheryl Mclean @creativeprinc and last but not least to everyone who bought a book, drove hours and miles to have it signed…in the freezing cold, shared their heart aches with me and or a hug, graciously brought thoughtful gifts or came dressed for the occasion just to hear me share my story, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
