Dog rescued from frozen pond

(Hewlett, NY)-  A Golden Retriever named “Lucky”, got lucky on Sunday morning when emergency personnel were able to rescue the pup from a partially frozen pond.  Nassau County Police say by the time Fourth Precinct officers responded to Grant Park in Hewlett, around 9am, Lucky struggling to stay afloat.  The Hewlett Fire Department responded to the scene and deployed rescue swimmers who were able to reach Lucky and pull the dog out of the water.  Lucky was safely reunited with their owner and then transported to an area animal hospital for evaluation.
