  • Well today Long Island enters phase 3 of reopening…. Indoor dining at restaurants can resume at 50 percent capacity… and personal services like nail salons and tattoo parlors can reopen, with strict guidelines…
  • If all goes according to plan… Long Island will enter phase 4 on July 8th… but according to Newsday, not everything will be opening with the start of phase 4… The final state might contain sub groups…. and Newsday says Shopping Malls… Gyms and Movie Theaters may not be allowed to initially reopen.
  • Meantime…. New cases of the coronavirus in the United States have surged to the highest level in two months. According to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the U.S. on Tuesday reported over 34 THOUSAND new cases of the virus.
  • On Monday, NY State tested over 48 thousand people for Covid 19… and only 597, or 1.2 percent, were positive…
  • New Yorker’s made their primary election picks for Congress, president and other offices Tuesday ….and this was the first year that the state allowed anyone to vote by absentee ballot.
  • Suffolk Lawmakers were busy on Tuesday… Voting to ban discrimination based on hair and religious attire…  Recognize Juneteenth, Declare June LGBTQ and Pride Month… and Newsday also says they approved a package of bills aimed at reforming CPS in response to the death of 8 year old, Thomas Valva.
  • Black lives matter Protesters gathered Tuesday in Garden City, today they will be in Port Washington.
  • And finally… BASEBALL IS BACK!  Major League Baseball issued a 60-game schedule last night that will start July 23 or 24 in empty ballparks as the sport tries to push ahead amid the coronavirus .  The Mets and Yankees will hold their training camps, here … in NY.
