  • Today is Juneteenth, the holiday celebrating the day in 1865 that all enslaved black people learned they had been freed from bondage.  Juneteenth is now a state holiday in New York… and also a day of protest. … Long Islanders will gather today in towns including… Amityville, Valley Stream, Hicksville, Freeport, Port Jeff Manhasset, east meadow Shirley, Mineola and Montauk.
  • The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday upheld legal protections for young immigrants, but its ruling isn’t a guarantee that they’ll get to keep them long term. President Donald Trump could still try to dismantle DACA.
  • Later today…  Governor Cuomo will hold the LAST of his daily coronavirus updates…Cuomo will give more details on NYC’s plan to enter phase 2 Monday… long island is still said to be on target for phase 3 on Wednesday, June 24th.
  • Facebook has pulled a campaign ad by President Donald Trump for violating its “policy against organized hate.” The ad featured an upside-down red triangle, used by Nazis…  Trump campaign official says the inverted red triangle was used by Antifa; the campaign has also claimed the symbol is an emoji.
  • American Airlines says they’ve decided to ban a passenger who was kicked off a flight at LaGuardia on Wednesday after he refused to wear a face mask.
  • Frontier Airlines says they will begin daily nonstop flights from Macarthur to Las Vegas.  The flights will begin march, 20-21
  • And finally, more corona cancellations…  Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts have canceled their fall schedules. And the New York City Ballet has called off its annual holiday presentation “The Nutcracker.”
