  • Fear that a “second wave,” of the coronavirus is already coming has punctured bubbling optimism for a quick economic recovery.  The Dow Jones lost more than 1800 points Thursday,…, and another 1.5 million Americans filed for first time unemployment benefits last week.
  • Scientists are beginning a new study to tell if the blood plasma of COVID-19 survivors might help prevent infection in the first place. Doctors already are using survivor plasma as a treatment for many hospitalized patients, even as research still is underway to tell if it really works.
  • Black community and political leaders are calling on President Donald Trump to change the date or place of a campaign rally scheduled for Juneteenth in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • Louisville, Kentucky, has banned the use of controversial “no-knock” warrants and named the new ordinance for Breonna Taylor. She was fatally shot by officers who burst into her home in March.
  • Governor Cuomo on Thursday announced that playgrounds and pools can reopen in the state… at the discretion of the localities… Nassau County will open  67 playgrounds will open Saturday.  4 pools, will open July 3rd for Nassau residents only. .
  • Newsday says Amazon is eyeing to buy a property in Syosset… if the deal is reached, the acquisition could bring over 500 jobs, to the island.
