  • Today is a big day on Long Island!  After months at home….staff returns Wednesday with new guidelines at hair salons and barber shops … restaurants will also open with outdoor dining… and office staff can return to select industries at 50% capacity inside the facility.
  • Protesters marched in the streets on Long Island Tuesday in towns including Smithtown, West Hempstead… and Hewlett.  While… in Houston, hundreds of mourners gathered for the funeral of George Floyd.  His body was laid to rest, next to his mother.
  • On Tuesday, Lawmakers in Albany….  passed a repeal of a decades-old law that kept police officers’ disciplinary records secret. Gov. Andrew Cuomo, said he would sign the legislation.
  • The Vatican has mounted an intensive response to the killing of George Floyd.  Pope Francis has denounced the killing and other instances of police brutality while encouraging peaceful protests.
  • The World Health Organization scrambled on Tuesday to clarify its seemingly contradictory comments in recent days: recommending people wear masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus from people with no….WHO’s inconsistent comments baffled many scientists
  • Two floors at Stony Brook University Hospital were evacuated Tuesday night after University police found a suspicious package.  Suffolk Arson and Bomb squad investigated…. No injuries were reported, no arrests have been made…
  • After three months of near total blackout, movie theaters are preparing to reopen —AMC Theaters, said Tuesday that it expects to have up to 98% of its theaters worldwide reopened by mid-July.
