According to the Potter County Jail weekly report, there has been a decrease in the inmate population, though capacity is still at 91%. The goal is 80% capacity.
This week, a total of 610 inmates are in Potter County custody, 543 inmates being held at the Potter County Jail, 67 inmates are being housed in other facilities.
That is down 10 inmates from last week.

- 336 pretrial felonies
- 81 pretrial state jail felons
- 67 convicted felons sentenced to TDCJ
- 43 parole violators with new charges
- 36 pretrial misdemeanors
- 21 parole violators
- 12 convicted state jail felons sentenced to state jail
- 67 inmates housed in other facilities
According to this week’s report, the average weekly population is 615. To be at 80%, that number needs to be 479. The jail capacity is 599 inmates.
