Pampa Police Officers were called to a residence in the 1300 block of North Duncan on Friday at approximately 11:30pm in reference to a shooting. Officers made contact with people inside the home, including a male subject who had been shot. Officers and other emergency personnel began treating the subject’s injuries prior to him being transported by EMS to Pampa Regional Medical Center. He was then transferred to an Amarillo hospital in critical condition. He later died from those injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the male subject, who was known to the residents of the home, had arrived uninvited and forced his way inside. Fearing for their safety, one of the occupants inside the home obtained a handgun and fired at the subject.
Once the investigation is concluded, all findings will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of any criminal charges. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available.
