FILE - Actor and former WWE Superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson participates in a Wrestlemania XXVII press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square on Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2011 in New York. It is a name that has become almost synonymous with professional wrestling but its bearer, Dwayne Johnson, has never legally owned “The Rock.” That will change under a new agreement with the WWE under whichJohnson will also join the board of TKO Group, the sports and entertainment company that houses WWE and UFC.(AP Photo/Evan Agostini, file)

Before he was a mega actor and businessman Dwayne Johnson was in the WWE and went by “The Rock.” Dwayne is now on the new WWE board and he has exclusive rights to his stage name. He has some pull in the new company, most of which I’ll be honest I don’t understand, but he owns the rights to his name.

“My grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, and my dad, Rocky ‘Soulman’ Johnson, would’ve never thought this day would come. Which is why I’m very humbled to have a seat at the table that has decades of history and family legacy for me. A table that my family helped to build. Being on the TKO Board of Directors, and taking full ownership of my name, ‘The Rock’, is not only unprecedented, but incredibly inspiring as my crazy life is coming full circle.”
