The American Academy of Pediatrics says weekly pediatric cases of COVID-19 in the US have hit a pandemic high.

More than 250,000 child cases were reported for the week ending Sept. 2.

That number is more than a quarter of the total number of cases for that period. Experts blame the rise in cases on the delta variant of COVID-19.
