Although the Grammy Nominations concert was on Friday night, the top show of the evening was "Shark Tank," which also turned out to be the highest-rated episode of the season as well. The Grammy concert was actually down more than a quarter from last year's show, although it did have 5.3 million people watching. The slip might have been due to the fact that CBS ran the show on a Friday night instead of the more usual Wednesday night.
So who got nominated? A few of the major categories were revealed during the "Grammy Nominations Concert Live!" - . JAY-Z scored the most nods this year with nine. Justin Timberlake, with seven nominations - .and even though his "The 20/20 Experience" is the top-selling album of the year, it was shut out of the top Grammy categories: album, song and record of the year. Song of the year nominees include Pink and Nate Ruess’ “Just Give Me a Reason”, Katy Perry’s “Roar:” and Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” which also is up against Robin THicke’s “Blurred Lines” among the record of the year nominees. Taylor Swift and Sara Bareilles (who just played the Paramount this weekend) both up for Album of the Year and Ed Sheeran, who’s also visited the Paramount- among the nominees for Best New Artist. The 2014 Grammy Awards will be handed out on Sunday, January 26th, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. You can see the whole thing on CBS. The entire list of nominations is up now at grammy.com.
Pink had the top-selling album by a woman and top-selling song by a woman this year.. and for those reasons and more- she’s been named “Woman of the Year” by Billboard magazine. The mag says that Pink "has almost been in a class by herself among women in music this year. And Pink has no trouble putting things in perspective, saying, "It's like a culmination of a lifetime of work has all just settled this year -- everything has just been positive and enormous and wonderful. It just feels really awesome because I don't know what I'm going to do after this, if I'm going to do anything." She's also approaching the honor as only a mother would. "I wish [my daughter] was 14 to see me like this. Unfortunately she won't be old enough to remember I was cool. 'Willow, look at this magazine! Who's on the cover?' 'Mom, that was so long ago.' She’ll accept her award at the 2013 Billboard Women in Music event tomorrow night in New York City

After five weeks, "The Hunger Games" has been dethroned from the top spot on the weekend box office charts --but just barely, as last week's number two movie, "Frozen," was able to make it to number one. The thriller, "Out of the Furnace," in its first week, was third.
With stadium seating in many theaters, these days you can get a good view from pretty much anywhere. So how do you choose where to sit in a movie theater? You may want to make your decision based on sound, says HOLLY FREY in a BrainStuff video. The best spot, according to Frey: in the middle of a row some two-thirds of the way back. When balancing sound in a theater, audio engineers sit in that section. In the middle, you'll have a fairly "neutral" sound, Frey says. Want a "more dynamic, stereo" experience? Try moving a few seats to the left or right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WwCDbQPZKw
