Vegans are up in arms over a secret ingredient in Starbucks' Strawberry Frappuccinos -- beetles that are used as food coloring.

Although the ground up cochineal beetles are government-approved and used in some Yoplait yogurts and Kellogg's Pop-Tarts, the Vegan website ThisDishIsVeg.com is warning readers that the popular Starbucks drink no longer is considered vegan friendly.

Starbucks made the switch in January as part of a plan to get away from artificial ingredients.
