This years flu outbreak has made me want to lock myself up in my house until spring. I’m terrified of the flu; the word outbreak makes my skin crawl. The news reports are giving me mini-panic attacks. If you’re like me and wondering what you can do to stay healthy, the following list is a good start.

  • Wash hands as often as possible
  • Use disinfectant (especially ones that say they can kill the flu virus) 
  • Limit exposure to crowded places
  • Avoid unnecessary contact (Do we really need to hug hello and good bye?)
  • Get sleep! Studies show that lack of sleep can compromise your immune system
  • Eat a balanced diet and supplement with a multi-vitamin, if necessary
