Riverhead - (WALK) Police continue their investigation into a pair of stabbings at an enormous, Saturday night house party in Riverhead.
An estimated 500 people were at the party on Oakland Drive South when a fight broke out at about 11:00 p.m., according to Riverhead police.
Riverhead police, Southold Town police, and New York State police were among law enforcement agencies who responded to calm and disperse the crowd. Suffolk police provided emergency services personnel and deployed a helicopter from its aviation unit to assist other agencies.
Two people were stabbed during the fray, Rashawn Lamb, 28, of Flanders, and Tashawn Brown, 22, of Riverhead. Both made it on their own to Peconic Medical Center in Riverhead. Brown was treated for injuries to his hand, Lamb was taken to Stony Brook Hospital were he was treated for wounds to his back, said police.
