Medford (WALK) - A Long Island father is charged with endangering the welfare of his baby son after an incident at his apartment over the weekend.
Police were called to a home on Little Treasure Drive in Medford Sunday afternoon after neighbors heard a baby crying in a basement apartment. When no one answered the door, police forced their way in and found a 13-month-old boy alone in his crib. The boy was not hurt.
About 40 minutes after police arrived, they say the baby's father showed up. Kelly Voss (pictured at left) was responsible for the child during a scheduled weekend visitation, according to investigators. Voss, 44, is scheduled to be arraigned today.
Police and a neighbor cared for the boy until the child's mother arrived at the house and took custody of the baby. Child Protective Services has been notified about the incident, according to police.
