Riverhead - (WALK) A sad, sickening scene greeted employees at Riverhead Brake Service Tuesday morning: the bodies of four kittens, killed and dumped behind the business on East Main Street.
Authorities say the kittens were about three weeks old, black-and-gray, and their throats had been slashed. Investigators say the kittens were evidently dumped behind the building sometime between 5:00 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the conviction of the person or people responsible for the cruel act. Call 631-382-7722, all calls will be confidential.
