Seaford (WALK) - A hostess at a local restaurant is under arrest after being accused in a case of identity theft involving a customer.
According to detectives, Christina Heaney of North Massapequa gained access to the credit card account information of a customer while working at Butera's in Seaford. Heaney and an accomplice then allegedly went on fast food shopping spree, making 26 fast food purchases over the past three months, totaling just over $1,000.
Police say Heaney, 33, and Philip Ferrite of North Massapequa were nabbed after Heaney went to a Seaford pizzeria Saturday night to pick up an order she'd placed using the stolen credit card account information. The owner of Papalardo Pizza called police after the order was placed, and officers arrested Heaney when she arrived.
While questioning Heaney, she reportedly permitted police to search her car for her drivers license. During the search, cops allegedly found Oxycodone pills. Ferrite, 32, was arrested a few hours later.
Both suspects have been arraigned on identity theft and grand larceny charges, and Heaney is also facing a drug charge.
