Old Bethpage (WALK) - An alleged credit card thief from Queens is accused of going on a liquor shopping spree, at the expense of his victims.

Police have arrested a man who allegedly went to an Old Bethpage liquor store twice last week and used doctored credit cards to buy over $3,000 worth of booze. The cards looked legitimate, say police, but the magnetic strips on the cards had been re-encoded with stolen account information.

Kenneth Ferguson, 21, was taken into custody yesterday when he returned to Bottle Values on Old Bethpage Road and was recognized by the owner, who then informed a police officer who was outside the store. When he was arrested, Ferguson was allegedly holding two more fraudulent credit cards.

The suspect is being arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead. The charges against him include grand larceny, forgery and identity theft.
