Hicksville (WALK) - For the second time in a week, someone has thrown a cinder block through the door of a pharmacy in Hicksville and then robbed the place of prescription drugs.
The latest incident happened just after 5:30 AM on Thursday morning at Smith Pharmacy on Route 107. The glass on the front door was broken using a cinder block, and pharmaceuticals were then found missing, according to police.
The crime sounds very similar to a break-in last Sunday at Harry's Pharmacy, also located on Route 107. The burglary at Harry's Pharmacy also occurred in the pre-dawn hours, and a cinder block was also used to smash the door. Prescription drugs that were stolen include dangerous, addictive painkillers like oxycodone and Vicodin.
The two pharmacies are located less than a mile apart. No arrests have been made in either case.
Detectives ask that anyone with information about these crimes please contact Nassau Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
