Central Islip - (WALK) A Brentwood man is accused of shooting and killing a Bohemia man during a 2009 home invasion and robbery, according to federal prosecutors.
Rhamaad Spann, 30, was one of two suspects accused of robbing a marijuana dealer living at a home on Sycamore Street in December of 2009. During the incident the home owner, Steven Privitera, 53, attempted to intercede and was fatally shot by Spann, according to prosecutors at Spann's arraignment at U.S. Court in Central Islip Friday.
Spann was arrested Thursday and pleaded not guilty Friday. He is being held without bail. He and two other suspects, John Moglia and Elizabeth Baylock were indicted in 2012; both pleaded not guilty. Ages and addresses for Moglia and Baylock were not available Friday.
The suspects are charged conspiracy, attempted robbery, discharging a firearm during crimes of violence.
